Requirements for admission to Jnanasaraswathi PU College

Academic Qualification

Candidates must have completed the Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination or an equivalent examination recognized by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka. This includes CBSE, ICSE, and other state or national boards.

Age Requirements

There is no specific age restriction; however, completion of the 10th standard (SSLC) or equivalent is mandatory for admission.

Inter-State Students

Students from boards outside Karnataka must submit a Migration Certificate and an Eligibility Certificate issued by the Karnataka Education authorities.

Reserved Categories

Students from reserved categories (SC, ST, or OBC) must provide a valid caste certificate in the prescribed format to receive applicable concessions.

Differently-Abled Students

Candidates with physical disabilities or visual impairments must submit a valid medical certificate specifying the nature of the disability.

Document Submission

Applicants must submit attested copies of mark cards, transfer and caste certificates (if applicable), Aadhar card, and passport-size photographs during admission.

Admission Process

Admissions open soon after the S.S.L.C. results are announced. Selection for merit seats will be conducted according to the rules set by the PU Board. Institution Rules & Code of Conduct

By enrolling at Jnanasaraswathi PU College, students and their parents/guardians agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

General Conduct & Discipline

  • Students must maintain discipline and respect the authority of the college management, faculty, and staff.
  • Any form of misconduct, bullying, ragging, or unruly behavior will result in strict disciplinary action, including suspension/expulsion.
  • Students must adhere to the rules and regulations set by the college management at all times.

Dress Code & Uniform

  • Wearing the prescribed college uniform is mandatory on all working days unless specified otherwise.
  • Students must maintain neat and modest attire; inappropriate clothing (e.g., ripped jeans, sleeveless tops, revealing outfits, T-shirts) is not allowed.
  • Uniform modifications (e.g., shortening/tightening the trousers, altering blazers) are not permitted .
  • Religious attire such as hijabs, turbans, or other religious symbols must not interfere with the prescribed uniform policy .

ID Card Requirements

  • Students must carry and display their college-issued ID card at all times within the campus.
  • Loss or damage of the ID card must be reported immediately, and a replacement fee will be charged.
  • Entry into the college premises may be denied without a valid ID card.

Attendance & Punctuality

  • Regular attendance is compulsory. A minimum of 75% attendance is required to be eligible for exams .
  • Latecomers may be denied entry or penalized as per college rules .
  • Prior permission must be sought for leave, and medical certificates must be submitted for prolonged absences .

Academic & Examination Rules

  • Students must complete assignments, projects, and internal assessments on time.
  • Malpractice or cheating during exams will lead to severe consequences, including cancellation of results.

Use of College Facilities

  • Misuse or damage to college property (library books, lab equipment, furniture, etc.) will result in fines or disciplinary action.
  • Unauthorized access to restricted areas (staff rooms, admin blocks) is prohibited.

Prohibited Items & Activities

  • Mobile phones, smart watches, and any other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited on campus.
  • Mobile phones (if allowed for special purposes) must be switched off and handed over to the college office during college hours. Misuse will lead to confiscation.
  • Smoking, usage of tobacco products, chewing gums, consuming alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicants are strictly banned on campus. Violations will lead to expulsion
  • Political or unauthorized group activities are not permitted

Safety & Security

  • Students must follow safety protocols in labs, sports areas, and during events.
  • Any suspicious activity or security concern must be reported immediately to college authorities.

Parent/Guardian Responsibility

  • Parents/guardians must ensure their ward follows college rules and attends parent-teacher meetings when required.
  • The college is not responsible for student conduct outside campus.

Amendments & Compliance

  • The college management reserves the right to modify rules as necessary, with prior notice.
  • Non-compliance with any term may result in disciplinary action, including termination of admission .
